Haiti – Day 8

Haiti – Day 7

“God I invite You to break my heart and make me cry for the things that make You cry.”
Today I have felt more productive than I’ve felt all week. First we had breakfast, then went down to the field to see if we could help out anywhere. We were able to help carry rocks from the main pile and stack them along the trench where the fence was being built as the workers set them in place and added concrete. Read more…

Haiti – Day 6

Today is church day! Despite the fact that the locals have one good set of clothes and wear them to church every Sunday, I had to resort to a wet shirt and shorts as my “church clothes” received major contact with the rain from last night. Read more…

Haiti – Day 5

Today was sort of a “lounge around” day for the first half. It’s Dadli’s wedding day and we aren’t leaving until 1pm. Dadli is the daughter of Jackson Nelson, our host, and she has asked Janet to be what we would call the made of honor. Read more…

Haiti – Day 4

This morning started off slow with a spaghetti/spam breakfast. Quite tasty…and spicy! After breakfast we took a walk down to Jackson’s farm and then to the location of the market. It was empty as market day here in Ferrier is on Tuesday. Read more…
